Loss Mitigation Liaison I (Mortgage)

Salary: $22.61–$37.67 hourly

What you will do

• Act as the single point of contact for mortgage borrowers throughout loss mitigation, decision-making, closing, and foreclosure.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls with delinquent borrowers while following consumer collection laws and regulations.
• Answer account questions and document all contacts in the mortgage servicing system.
• Collect financial information, review loss mitigation documents, and explain required documentation.
• Explain approval and decline decisions, appeal and re-application options, liquidation alternatives, and the foreclosure process.
• Follow company, operational risk, audit, and regulatory control standards.

Requirements

• Four years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least one year in collections or customer service.
• Effective and professional telephone communication skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to maintain compliance with applicable state and federal consumer collection regulations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Mortgage collections experience.
• Knowledge of M&T systems.
