Mortgage Loan Officer I

Location: Onsite in Winter Park, Florida, United States. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $22.55–$28.18 per hour.

What you will do

• Interview and counsel members about first mortgage and equity loan products.
• Take mortgage loan applications and guide members through the process from application to closing.
• Determine applicant qualifications and recommend personalized financing alternatives.
• Explain mortgage and equity loan processes, products, requirements, and documentation.
• Build and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, and other centers of influence.
• Use automated systems, databases, presentation tools, word processors, and spreadsheets to support lending activities.

Requirements

• Experience in member or customer service, preferably in realty, insurance, retail banking, or another financial institution.
• Familiarity with accounting, credit, lending principles, mortgage concepts, and banking industry standards.
• Exposure to the lending application and approval process.
• Strong numerical, analytical, communication, presentation, and legal-document comprehension skills.
• Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry is required before assuming employment duties, including fingerprinting and background checks.
• Effective database, presentation, word-processing, and spreadsheet software skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Navy Federal mortgage production or servicing systems.
• Knowledge of mortgage and equity loan processing, closing, documentation requirements, and regulations.
• Familiarity with VA and conventional mortgage loan programs.
