Senior Collections Specialist (Consumer Default Servicing)

Salary: $22.61–$37.67 per hour

What you will do

• Manage assigned portfolios of severely delinquent open and non-performing assets, including accounts 90 or more days past due.
• Contact borrowers by phone and arrange repayment schedules, modifications, workouts, short sales, and settlements.
• Perform skip tracing, investigate accounts, assess repayment prospects, and recommend placements with collection agencies, attorneys, brokers, or property preservation firms.
• Review collateral condition and asset value, develop sales leads and markets, negotiate sale agreements, and complete collateral transactions with limited oversight.
• Coordinate with business partners, vendors, customers’ attorneys, and bankruptcy trustees while monitoring service-level agreements.
• Apply loss-prevention strategies, maintain compliance and operational risk controls, and support internal and external audit requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of combined higher education and/or work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, customer-facing work, collections, call center operations, or sales.
• Strong skip-tracing skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under limited supervision and exercise settlement authority.
• Ability to manage complex servicing areas such as foreclosure, bankruptcy, REO/property preservation, repossession, remarketing, legal liaison, recovery, or post-charge-off collections.
