Credit Services Recovery Specialist (Banking)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. Office-based role; applicants must currently be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

What you will do

• Contact charged-off customers by telephone or mail to collect balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Update collection files and complete required documentation.
• Negotiate payment plans and complete the related decision-making process while protecting the bank's interests.
• Locate customers through skip tracing and LexisNexis.
• Analyze accounts and recommend or arrange repossession, bankruptcy, foreclosure, or other bank and legal action.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of collections experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of consumer and collection law.
• Knowledge of CACS, RMS, and HOGAN systems.
• Computer experience.
• Goal-oriented and self-motivated approach.
