Decision Engineering Team Lead (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $269,000–$335,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead a small team of Decision Engineers and set the technical direction and delivery standards.
• Build and ship AI tools, agents, and decision systems for business operations workflows.
• Identify high-impact AI augmentation opportunities and deliver tools with measurable productivity gains.
• Design and maintain shared AI infrastructure, including AGENTS.md, SKILLS.md, and reusable organizational skills.
• Grow engineers through technical direction, code review, hiring, and team development.
• Partner with functional leadership to translate business goals into an AI tooling roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including leading engineers or owning technical direction for a team.
• Production-grade experience with Go, Python, and TypeScript, plus the ability to work in other programming languages.
• Strong full-stack development skills with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, MCP servers, and agentic frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI coding agent tools, including Claude Code and Cursor.
• Autonomous execution, strong communication, product and design judgment, and the ability to drive adoption among non-technical stakeholders.
