Engineering Leader (AI)

Location: San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule; in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Work from home is generally available on Wednesdays, while Fridays depend on the role and partner teams.

Base salary: $306,000–$360,000 per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Set strategy, goals, and execution priorities across the AI Teammates Platform, Experience, Chat Experience, and Agent Orchestration teams.
• Own technical architecture for model rollouts, evaluation infrastructure, tool orchestration, MCP, proactivity engines, and observability.
• Lead development of chat interfaces, onboarding flows, explainability, human-in-the-loop workflows, and enterprise governance experiences.
• Build integrations, Agent Skills, and MCP frameworks connecting AI Teammates with Slack, Salesforce, coding agents, and internal systems.
• Scale the engineering organization by recruiting, retaining, and developing engineering managers and senior technical leaders.
• Align engineering, product, design, security, legal, business, and external AI-lab stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years leading multiple engineering teams or managers.
• Deep expertise in applied AI, LLM evaluation, agent and tool orchestration, MCP, proactivity models, and production observability.
• Experience with backend and systems reliability, complex full-stack interfaces, and enterprise governance and permissions.
• Ability to manage architectural trade-offs, delivery risks, ambiguity, and multi-quarter investments.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing senior engineers and managers while supporting inclusive teams.
• Strong communication skills across executive, technical, product, and enterprise customer contexts.
