Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI, or Washington, DC. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $190,000–$210,000 USD per year, plus potential incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a small engineering team while contributing production code and providing hands-on technical direction.
• Own architecture decisions, technical health, modernization planning, technical debt, and delivery roadmaps.
• Modernize legacy .NET/C# services and Angular front ends while building new capabilities with Python, Node.js, and React.
• Establish AI-agent operating instructions, verification protocols, human-in-the-loop controls, and production merge safeguards.
• Drive automated testing, CI/CD, containerized delivery, Infrastructure as Code, security remediation, and operational automation.
• Hire, coach, and evaluate engineers while partnering with production support on tooling, documentation, runbooks, and service reliability.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of software engineering experience, including senior engineering or technical-lead work and leadership of at least one engineering team.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience with Python, Node.js, React, .NET/C#, and Angular.
• Demonstrated use of agentic or AI-assisted software development workflows in real delivery environments.
• Experience across the full development lifecycle, including testing, release, operations, troubleshooting, and iteration.
• Cloud-native experience on Azure, container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.

Nice to have

• Financial services, accounting, finance, tax technology, or tax software experience.
• Familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Atlassian tools, SonarQube, Mend, Aqua Trivy, and WIZ.
• Experience with micro-front-end architectures and mixed legacy/new technology environments.
• Professional certifications or advanced degrees such as CPA, EA, JD, or a master’s degree.
