TL;DR
Medical Education Inventory Specialist (Medical Devices): Coordinating the receipt, organization, cleaning, packaging, and shipment of medical devices, instrument sets, and training materials for surgeon labs, education programs, and customer events with an accent on inventory accuracy, ERP management, and operational quality. Focus on maintaining regulated medical equipment, planning replenishment, fulfilling cross-functional requests, and supporting training activities in an onsite Houston environment.

Location: Houston, Texas, USA (onsite). Up to 10% travel is required, including travel outside the Houston metropolitan area.

What you will do

  • Package, prepare, and ship medical devices, instrument sets, marketing equipment, and training materials for surgeon labs, workshops, seminars, sales meetings, and customer events.
  • Receive products and enter inventory data into the ERP system.
  • Manage medical education and marketing inventory documentation and activity in the inventory ERP.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inventory requests submitted through SmartSheets and complete regular restocking orders.
  • Organize equipment and clean, disinfect, and inspect returned workshop inventory according to company procedures.
  • Participate in continuous quality and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clear professional oral and written communication skills, strong planning and problem-solving abilities, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize and multitask with limited supervision.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of customer records and operate computers and general office equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to lift, tug, or pull up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and be able to maintain it without future sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, or sterilizing medical devices, surgical instruments, or other regulated healthcare products.
  • Experience with field, training, consignment, or medical education inventory.
  • Experience using Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, or a similar ERP or inventory management system.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting, inventory control, replenishment planning, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and inventory tracking or reporting tools.
