Pharmacy Inventory Specialist, Outpatient Department

Salary: $75,296.00–$83,959.20 per year

What you will do

• Manage outpatient pharmacy inventory, including stock maintenance, rotation, cycle counts, returns, recalls, outdates, and physical counts.
• Coordinate inventory transfers and provide inventory support across outpatient pharmacy satellite locations.
• Maintain inventory metrics, reports, logs, invoices, and receiving records in pharmacy management systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot third-party inventory technology, including Parata and Carousel, and coordinate vendor support and maintenance.
• Train pharmacy staff on inventory procedures, product storage, hazardous-product handling, and inventory systems.
• Provide cross-coverage for purchasing and other outpatient pharmacy operations when needed.

Requirements

• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Pharmacy Technician required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB required.
• Five years of outpatient or retail pharmacy inventory experience required, or two years as a DFCI outpatient pharmacy technician level 2, 3, or 4.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems, pharmacy technology, Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel, and Visio.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, troubleshooting, training, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a health system outpatient pharmacy.
• Experience with Parata, Carousel, and/or Enterprise Rx.
