TL;DR
Supervisor, System Operations, Level 1 (Power Systems): Coordinating the safe, reliable, and economical minute-to-minute operation of generation, transmission, and distribution facilities with an accent on SCADA control, outage coordination, and system reliability. Focus on analyzing contingencies, managing emergency procedures, restoring faulted equipment, and enforcing NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE, and switching and tagging requirements.

Location: Manchester, NH, United States. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required, along with emergency storm assignments.

Salary: $115,730–$128,590 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and supervise minute-to-minute system operations for generation, transmission, and distribution facilities under the ESCC dispatch center.
  • Issue switching, grounding, and tagging orders in accordance with approved procedures and safety rules.
  • Monitor real-time system conditions and control equipment through SCADA during normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions.
  • Perform load-flow, security-analysis, and contingency studies to assess reliability and develop response plans.
  • Coordinate outages, fault isolation, sectionalizing, equipment repairs, and restoration of customer loads and impacted facilities.
  • Initiate emergency procedures, including load shedding, and communicate operating data and system issues to ISO-NE, local control centers, and neighboring companies.

Requirements

  • Five years of related dispatching or electric operations experience, including distribution dispatching, generation station operations, electrical maintenance, power system protection and control, or equivalent experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, two years of formal military or technical training beyond high school, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Knowledge of generation, transmission, and distribution system operations, generating-unit characteristics, protective relay schemes, and special protection systems.
  • Ability to perform and analyze online and offline load-flow and contingency studies.
  • Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, NPCC criteria, ISO-NE operating procedures, and ESCC switching and tagging policies.
  • Eversource does not provide immigration-related visa sponsorship; applicants requiring sponsorship to start employment will not be considered. Must pass required pre-employment tests and be able to obtain NERC certification within the first year.
