Supervisor, System Operations Center (Rotating Shifts Required)

Location: East Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Work is performed primarily in a control center, with travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary. Rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, emergency restoration assignments, and occasional long hours are required.

Salary: $130,990–$145,540 annually, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Supervise control center staff responsible for system integrity, corrective actions, network operations, repairs, clearances, and operational records.
• Coordinate load control, switching and tagging, planned work, generating-facility switching operations, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with field personnel to assess outages, develop restoration plans, direct crews, and communicate system status to customers and stakeholders.
• Evaluate system-element outage requests and risks affecting customer service and system integrity.
• Manage employee performance through coaching, mentoring, on-the-job training, performance measures, and corrective action.
• Improve work processes, operating practices, work plans, schedules, forecasts, and resource utilization.

Requirements

• Knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction principles, safety standards, and business processes.
• At least five years of related experience in dispatch, transmission, distribution, generation, field service, customer service, or change management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Planning, organizational, project and schedule management skills, including computerized trouble, work, materials management, and scheduling tools.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and other PC desktop applications, with working knowledge of labor contracts.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must already have authorization to work in the United States.
