Associate Claim Representative Outside Property

Location: Remote field position serving the Allegheny County/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area; the selected candidate must reside in the assigned territory. Work includes residential and commercial locations, the primary residence, and the nearest hirify.global office, with possible extensive travel and overnight stays.

Annual base salary: $52,600–$86,800, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Complete a structured 9–12-month training program covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, procedures, and on-the-job claims handling.
• Review, investigate, document, and evaluate first-party property claims under direct supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers, and analyze relevant leases, contracts, bylaws, and other documents.
• Determine building-damage coverage under policy terms, establish damage scopes, and prepare written or computer-assisted estimates for building and contents losses.
• Communicate professionally with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders while maintaining accurate claim records.
• Inspect dwellings and structures, including roofs, attics, and crawl spaces; carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38–49 pounds, and travel to support customers across multiple locations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, effective decision-making within established authority, and exceptional customer service skills.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Basic conflict resolution skills and willingness to learn techniques for productive discussions and negotiations.
• Openness to continuous learning, including AI and digital transformation, and ability to adapt to new technologies, system upgrades, and digital tools.
• Ability to obtain relevant insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification within three months of starting the job, as required by federal, state, and hirify.global requirements.
