Counselor (Behavioral Health)

Location: On-site in Hagerstown, Maryland, USA

Salary: $28–$31 per hour plus bonus structure, depending on licensure, certifications, and education.

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling, group sessions, intake, and readmission services.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and develop or revise treatment plans.
• Provide supportive follow-up counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to community providers.
• Coordinate care, maintain comprehensive patient records, and complete inter-agency documentation.
• Orient patients to treatment procedures and support their transition to a drug-free life.
• Participate in OBOT services, staff training, conferences, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services or a related field; at least a bachelor’s degree is required.
• Must hold a CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGPC, LGSW, LICSW, LMHC, LCADC, CADC, or ADT license or certification in Maryland.
• Knowledge of substance-use populations, treatment planning, human behavior, and social services.
• Ability to make effective decisions, handle confidential and sensitive matters, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
• Work on-site Monday through Friday from 4:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a rotating Saturday shift.
