QNX Senior Manager, IDE & Tools Team (Embedded Software)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: CAD 131,250–181,250 per year

What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team through coaching, hiring, performance reviews, and individual growth plans.
• Provide strategic technical direction and operational oversight across the full software development lifecycle.
• Own the design, development, maintenance, and quality of QNX IDE-based tools, device-side tools, services, and the QNX Software Center.
• Guide technical decisions, architecture discussions, software specifications, designs, estimates, code reviews, and sign-offs.
• Work with Product Management, Architecture, QA, customers, and other QNX teams to clarify requirements and deliver reliable tools.
• Drive continuous improvement, resolve complex software issues, and maintain tool qualification analysis for ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Extensive experience in embedded software development using C or in a tools development environment using Java and ISEs.
• Strong understanding of ISO 26262 safety and ISO 21434 security standards.
• Ability to balance technical depth with strategic oversight and translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience delivering user experiences focused on simplicity and usability.
• Strong coaching, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
