QNX Senior Manager, IDE & Tools Team

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: $131,250.00–$181,250.00 per year

What you will do

• Lead an engineering team through direction, coaching, hiring, performance reviews, and individual growth planning.
• Provide strategic technical direction and operational oversight across the full software development lifecycle.
• Oversee the design, development, maintenance, and quality of IDE-based tools, device-side tools, services, and the QNX Software Center.
• Guide technical decisions, design discussions, architectural alignment, code reviews, unit-test implementation, and technical sign-off.
• Clarify customer requirements and coordinate with Product Management, customers, architects, QA, and other engineering teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, product reliability, and resolution of complex software issues.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Ability to balance technical depth with strategic oversight and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience coaching engineers, developing future leaders, and building cohesive teams.
• Extensive experience in embedded software development using C or in a tools development environment using Java and IDEs.
• Strong foundation in Safety (ISO 26262) and Security (ISO 21434) standards.
• Ability to deliver user experiences focused on simplicity and usability.
• Innovative mindset, creative problem-solving ability, pragmatic implementation skills, initiative, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn and grow.
