Engineering Manager, Platform (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: CA$160,000–CA$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a full-stack platform team responsible for hirify.global’s mobile and web platforms.
• Own mobile release processes, including build pipelines, release trains, app store submissions, phased rollouts, and feature flagging.
• Improve frontend developer experience through shared components, CI/CD, testing, self-service tooling, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Deliver internal tools for operations, support, and business teams.
• Own risk-related systems and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Product, Security, and authentication teams.
• Manage vendors, production reliability, incident response, observability, and technical debt reduction.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating production software across web or mobile frontends and backend services.
• 1–3 years managing an engineering team of approximately 3–6 people.
• Experience owning customer-facing or business-critical systems and maintaining high quality and reliability standards.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and making build-versus-buy decisions.
• Strong ability to turn ambiguous objectives into actionable plans and balance strategy with hands-on technical execution.
• Clear communication skills for working with Product, Design, Risk, Security, and engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile CI/CD, release automation, app store processes, and frontend build tooling at consumer scale.
• Background in financial services, payments, fraud, identity verification, authentication, or authorization, including OAuth/OIDC, SSO, or MFA.
• Experience with Onfido or Auth0.
• Experience building internal platforms and adopting AI-assisted development, testing, and code review workflows.
