Sr. Staff Engineer, IP Runtime

Location: Hybrid, based in Austin, Texas, United States, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Compensation: $100k–$500k, including base and variable compensation targets.

What you will do

• Define runtime architecture for execution, scheduling, synchronization, and resource management across custom processors, accelerators, memory, and data-movement IP.
• Build low-level runtime components that initialize hardware, dispatch work, coordinate dependencies, and manage resources.
• Design runtime interfaces and data-movement paths for efficient and predictable memory access and execution.
• Analyze runtime and hardware/software bottlenecks and improve latency, throughput, scalability, and reliability.
• Influence the runtime stack while collaborating with hardware, firmware, compiler, systems, customer, and field-facing teams.
• Remain hands-on with design, coding, performance analysis, hardware bring-up, and debugging.

Requirements

• Expertise in C or C++ and experience delivering complex, performance-critical systems.
• Experience with low-level, embedded, bare-metal, or accelerator environments and translating hardware specifications into reliable software behavior.
• Strong knowledge of command execution, scheduling, synchronization, memory movement, resource management, and parallelism.
• Ability to debug and optimize systems across the hardware/software boundary.
• Technical leadership skills, cross-functional collaboration, and experience mentoring engineers.
• Employment is contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; citizenship, permanent residency, or prior license approval may be required.
