Customs Operations Specialist (EU Export)

Location: Remote within the European Union; current residence and authorization to work within the European Union required

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and verify export documentation, commercial data, customs entries, and broker document packages.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, transport companies, customs authorities, and internal logistics, warehouse, finance, technical, and IT teams.
• Manage rules of origin, preferential trade documentation, Supplier’s Declarations, EUR.1 certificates, T2 procedures, and San Marino invoice declarations.
• Handle warranty replacements, claim returns, repair shipments, re-imports, duty-free re-imports, and other non-standard customs procedures.
• Determine and verify HS codes for technical and manufacturing products and align classifications with product specifications and customs documents.
• Support month-end export activities, process improvements, ERP enhancements, and customs workflow automation.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in customs operations, customs brokerage, export compliance, or a comparable role.
• Strong practical knowledge of EU export customs procedures, rules of origin, and preferential trade agreements.
• Hands-on experience with EUR.1 certificates, Supplier’s Declarations, T2 procedures, export documentation, and non-standard shipments.
• Experience classifying HS codes for technical or manufacturing products and working with ERP systems, customs software, or system integrations.
• Experience communicating with customs authorities, managing customs brokers, resolving complex cases, and working under month-end deadlines.
• English at B2/C1 level and authorization to work within the European Union required.
