Director, Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Singapore; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office, with expectations confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Lead engineering teams building, modernizing, and supporting secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications for the hirify.global Resolve Online platform.
• Define technical direction, architectural strategy, engineering standards, and delivery processes across the product lifecycle.
• Lead the development and adoption of AI solutions, including Generative AI, Machine Learning, Conversational AI, Intelligent Document Processing, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Oversee the design, development, maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of Machine Learning models and solutions.
• Coordinate multiple Agile teams across integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, release management, and production support.
• Develop engineering talent through mentoring, goal setting, performance management, and accountability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 7+ years with an advanced degree, 4+ years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and managing complex enterprise-class, mission-critical application systems, including 5+ years leading software engineering teams.
• Strong foundation in Java and backend engineering, including microservices, APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Python and Machine Learning fundamentals, including data preparation, predictive modeling, model evaluation, and performance improvement.
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, release management, observability, incident response, production support, secure coding, data privacy, governance, and compliance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional Agile teams, manage dependencies, remove delivery impediments, and communicate technical plans to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Generative AI, LLM applications, model evaluation, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, responsible AI, and agent-based engineering workflows.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and tools such as Claude Code CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Cline.
• Experience with scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks, and common Machine Learning techniques.
• Experience with Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Gradle, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Liquibase, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Black Duck, or similar toolchains.
• Experience in financial services, payments, or another highly regulated technology environment.
