Engineering Director, Payments Platform

What you will do

• Define and execute the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Payments Platform.
• Lead platform capabilities covering payment processing, routing, settlement, reconciliation, and partner integrations across global markets.
• Manage, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical talent across multiple squads.
• Set architectural standards for reliability, observability, security, scalability, and developer productivity.
• Drive execution through OKRs, concurrent initiatives, delivery accountability, and long-term platform investment.
• Partner with Product, Commercial, Risk, Compliance, and regional engineering leaders to support growth, customer experience, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• Experience managing Engineering Managers or Engineering Leads and building high-performing teams.
• Strong product thinking and experience partnering with Product Management on roadmaps, prioritization, and business outcomes.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with strong ownership and execution.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, payments, or another regulated industry where correctness and data integrity are critical.
