Trial Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Hybrid role requiring regular time in the Houston office at 1221 Lamar, Suite 900, Houston, TX 77010-3301

Salary: $129,250–$196,900 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay of up to 24% of base salary.

What you will do

• Handle insurance litigation and other legal assignments under Law Department guidelines.
• Own cases and develop trial strategies throughout litigation.
• Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Meet with clients and collaborate with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury.
• Knowledge of local and Texas discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law.
• Experience with trials, mediation, and depositions, plus effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases electronically and use case management and document storage systems.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active Texas law license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas; immediate lawful eligibility to work in the United States required.
