Trial Attorney/Sr. Trial Attorney (Insurance)

Location: Wayne, Pennsylvania; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote, subject to business needs.

Salary: USD $130,000–$189,000 per year.

What you will do

• Represent insureds before assigned courts and present witnesses and evidence in litigated claims.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct legal research, and develop and advance defense strategies.
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare for and handle full trials, appeals, depositions, court appearances, claims, client meetings, and related events.
• Advise claims professionals and clients, communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients, and support Claims Department training.
• Manage assigned cases from inception to resolution while complying with legal, regulatory, professional conduct, and litigation requirements; travel by car for approximately 20%–40% of working time.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Membership in good standing of the Bar of the relevant jurisdiction, with knowledge of state laws and local court policies and procedures.
• 7+ years of legal experience for Trial Attorney or 15+ years of independent handling of complex cases for Sr. Trial Attorney, in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, legal research, legal writing, independent judgment, litigation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Edge or Chrome.
• Experience with legal case management software, including workflows and task management protocols, and strong typing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with administrative support staff and foster a collaborative environment.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing.
