Senior Trial Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Plantation, Tampa, or Orlando, Florida; hybrid work opportunity

Salary: $138,000–$243,000 annually; expected starting range: $138,000–$206,000

What you will do

• Independently serve as lead counsel or work as part of a team on civil litigation matters in state and federal courts.
• Manage a substantial caseload from inception through resolution across commercial and personal insurance lines.
• Develop litigation strategies, conduct motion practice, negotiate matters, and demonstrate effective trial advocacy.
• Prepare factually, legally, and analytically sound case valuations and communicate updates to clients and claims partners.
• Monitor changes in law, technology, local rules, and procedural requirements affecting litigation strategies.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff while building strong relationships with legal and insurance partners.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in the state where the position is located.
• More than eight years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
• Significant experience with PIP, First Party Property, General Liability, Bodily Injury, Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or UM/UIM litigation.
• Strong trial advocacy, negotiation, analytical, written, verbal communication, organization, and case-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to work collaboratively onsite and remotely.

Nice to have

• Extensive Florida PIP and First Party Property litigation experience.
• Defense civil litigation experience throughout Florida.
• Experience with larger commercial lines matters.
• Subrogation experience.
