Sr Trial Attorney

Location: Hybrid work in the Greater NYC and Tri-State Region, with offices in Garden City and Elmsford, New York

Salary: $138,000–$243,000 annually; expected starting salary range: $138,000–$206,000

What you will do

• Represent clients independently as lead counsel or as part of a litigation team in personal and commercial insurance matters.
• Handle civil litigation involving auto liability, personal injury, bodily injury, wrongful death, premises liability, general liability, NY Labor Law, and related areas.
• Manage a productive caseload across courts and agencies, including case strategy, valuation, deadlines, filings, and client communications.
• Monitor changes in law, technology, local rules, and procedural requirements affecting liability and recovery litigation.
• Build professional relationships that support case referrals and effective collaboration with claims and legal partners.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff through guidance, training, coaching, and feedback.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in the state where the position is located.
• Typically more than eight years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
• Significant litigation, trial advocacy, negotiation, analytical, and legal writing skills.
• Strong organization, time management, decision-making, and complex case coordination abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; background and/or credit checks are required.
