Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: San Diego, California. Remote-field work from home with a mobile office/vehicle for on-site appointments. Candidates should reside within and service the listed territory: ZIP codes 91902, 91905, 91906, 91910, 91911, 91913, 91914, 91915, 91917, 91932, 91934, 91935, 91941, 91945, 91950, 91963, 91977, 91978, and 91980. Occasional travel outside the assigned area may be required.

Salary: $69,398.62–$104,056.00 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Explain coverage, gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims.
• Evaluate policy terms and local regulations, then negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.
• Provide professional customer service during difficult or emotionally charged claim situations.

Requirements

• Residence within the specified San Diego-area ZIP codes and ability to service the assigned territory.
• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to lift and carry items, climb ladders, navigate roofs at various heights, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required. Required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and possible rope and harness safety training must be completed.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling practices.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Xactimate and XactContents experience.
