Property Claims Adjuster II (Tidewater/VA Beach, VA - WFH)

Location: Work from home in the Tidewater/VA Beach, Virginia territory with travel to policy locations 3–4 days per week; occasional overnight travel and relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates living more than 50 miles outside the territory.

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting range; $62,500–$115,500 national range per year.

What you will do

• Investigate, adjust, negotiate, and resolve moderate to severe personal-lines property damage claims from initiation through conclusion.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims guidelines, and manage reserves and special reserves.
• Conduct onsite and virtual inspections of damaged properties, prepare estimates, and assess repair requirements and local market pricing.
• Submit severe incident and reinsurance reports and collaborate with claims management.
• Partner with Special Investigations and Subrogation teams to identify fraud and recovery opportunities and prepare files for litigation or subrogation.
• Provide clear, professional service to policyholders, claimants, contractors, attorneys, agents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Three to five years of property claims handling or insurance field-adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate, property estimating, and automated claims systems.
• Experience writing estimates and handling claims through settlement.
• Construction experience in residential work, roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, written, verbal, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, ability to inspect properties physically, work outdoors in various weather conditions, travel, work irregular hours, and respond to catastrophes.
