Property Claims Adjuster II - NEX (San Joaquin or Stanislaus County, CA - WFH)

Location: Work from home in California, ideally based in San Joaquin or Stanislaus County; the territory covers North Central California. Requires day travel to policy locations an average of 3–4 days per week, occasional overnight travel, and physical property and rooftop inspections.

Salary: $62,500–$115,500 annually; expected starting range: $62,500–$93,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and through face-to-face handling.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and manage claim reserves within delegated authority.
• Write repair estimates, evaluate local market pricing, and maintain knowledge of property repair procedures.
• Conduct onsite and virtual inspections, including rooftop inspections, and handle claims from opening through resolution.
• Partner with Special Investigation Unit and Subrogation teams to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.
• Support catastrophe assignments, severe-incident reporting, litigation preparation, and additional territories in a desk-adjuster capacity.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of property claims handling, insurance field, or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and experience writing estimates and handling claims through completion.
• Construction experience in residential work, roofing, remodeling, water mitigation, or a related area.
• Strong customer service, written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to travel, work irregular or extended hours, and participate in CAT duty.
• Must be able to safely climb ladders and inspect first- and second-story rooftops, including roofs with pitches up to 8/12, in varied weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a customer service environment with flexible schedules and extended work hours.
• Ability to guide and provide leadership to less experienced claims associates.
