Claim Specialist-Auto/Property-Hybrid (Insurance)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; hybrid work with time split between home and the office. Training may require a higher percentage of in-office work. Flexible shifts, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$83,535.93 annually, with potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle auto and property insurance claims.
• Apply insurance policies, coverage requirements, liability principles, and applicable regulations to determine claim outcomes.
• Assess damages, estimate repair costs, and handle settlements across injury, property damage, total-loss, catastrophe, commercial, boat, farm, and fire claims.
• Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls, written correspondence, and electronic claim communications.
• Work through task-driven queues while multitasking in a fast-paced call center environment.
• Provide personalized support and use empathy and de-escalation skills during difficult customer interactions.

Requirements

• Related bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience handling auto and/or property insurance claims preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claim-handling practices, and state or local compliance requirements.
• Ability to use CCC, Xactimate, XactContents, and other estimating or evaluation software.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
• Successful completion of required training, applicable proficiency and licensing exams, background checks, and any required pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bilingual Spanish proficiency; a language proficiency exam is required for candidates seeking bilingual consideration.
• Experience with complex claims, fraud indicators, injury claims, or specialized auto and property claim areas.
