Investor Relations Director and Competitive Intelligence (Banking)

Location: New York, NY, United States. Workplace type: Office.

Annual salary: $170,000–$350,000, plus eligibility for an incentive compensation plan.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise competitive intelligence covering large-bank peers, including financial performance, KPIs, strategy, pricing, credit, capital, liquidity, and regulatory developments.
• Develop peer dashboards, scorecards, quarterly insights, and analyses of earnings releases, presentations, sell-side research, investor commentary, and market sentiment.
• Build and maintain financial models, consensus tracking, variance analyses, valuation analyses, and peer rerating assessments.
• Conduct scenario analyses involving rate paths, deposit pricing, loan growth, credit normalization, hedging, CECL, and capital actions.
• Support earnings preparation, including press releases, presentation slides, Q&A materials, talking points, and internal briefings.
• Advise the Head of Investor Relations, CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board while supporting investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and broader IR initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, FP&A, strategy, Treasury/ALM, or investor relations.
• Demonstrated mastery of financial modeling, particularly bank financials including NII/NIM, deposit betas, credit/CECL, capital ratios, liquidity, and AOCI.
• Strong analytical, storytelling, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Experience handling confidential information and working under tight deadlines in high-visibility situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytical tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, and Visible Alpha.

Nice to have

• MBA and/or CFA designation.
• Deep understanding of large-bank financials, regulatory capital frameworks, liquidity management, and disclosure norms.
• Experience managing or developing junior talent.
• Executive influence and experience collaborating across Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, Communications, and business units.
