Associate - Financial Advisory Services (Finance)

Location: Chicago, IL; office-based. Travel required at 25–50%. Applicants must be authorized to work full time in the United States.

Salary: $114,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze historical financial results, normalized earnings, working capital trends, and quality of earnings findings.
• Support buy-side and sell-side diligence through data requests, client interactions, management interviews, and financial reporting analysis.
• Build cash flow forecasts, liquidity analyses, 13-week cash flow models, projections, sensitivities, and restructuring scenarios.
• Analyze capital structures and debt agreements, identifying risks, covenant constraints, and restructuring alternatives.
• Support turnaround plans, cost reduction initiatives, operational improvement strategies, and bankruptcy administration.
• Use Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx to analyze datasets, improve reporting workflows, and identify financial and operational trends.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or another analytical field.
• 2–4 years of experience in corporate restructuring, investment, accounting, and/or consulting.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, financial modeling, operational and financial restructuring, and debtor-creditor relationships.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build comprehensive integrated financial models.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, writing, attention-to-detail, and deadline-management skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; an FBI background check with fingerprinting is required.

Nice to have

• MBA or MS in accounting, finance, or another analytical field.
• Experience with Power BI and Alteryx.
• Leadership skills and experience working independently across multiple work streams.
