Staff Software Engineer — User Trail (Data Platform)

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for unlocking analytics and observability data through self-service tools, dashboards, and an AI-powered assistant.
• Solve complex, ambiguous problems spanning multiple areas of the data platform and make decisions about access, self-service, and support tradeoffs.
• Anticipate scaling needs as more products and teams depend on the platform and its data.
• Drive improvements to tooling, engineering processes, and quality practices.
• Influence capability prioritization using an ROI-focused perspective on business and stakeholder impact.
• Partner with support, trading, business, and product teams while mentoring engineers and sharing technical expertise.

Requirements

• Track record of solving difficult, ambiguous technical problems end to end across multiple systems.
• Deep expertise in backend services and/or data-intensive systems, such as event pipelines, data warehouse or lakehouse platforms, or SDK development.
• Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs against business impact and communicate decisions clearly.
• Strong communication and influence skills with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience helping engineers grow through mentorship, design reviews, or technical leadership.
• 11+ years of software development or engineering experience; a computer science or relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.
