Senior Backend Engineer (L5) - Core Trading (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the architecture of the Client Trading Engine, Pricing Engine, Risk Management Engine, and Smart Hedging.
• Design scalable systems for growing transaction volumes, trading venues, and currency corridors.
• Break ambiguous, complex systems into components with clear contracts and independently deliverable scopes.
• Set observability standards and design alerting, fallback, and recovery strategies for trading and risk systems.
• Write production code and drive architectural decisions through implementation.
• Coach engineers and collaborate with product, risk, and engineering management on revenue and payment-volume outcomes.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Deep experience with distributed systems, consistency, failure modes, and system trade-offs.
• Experience building durable and recoverable orchestrators and complex long-running workflows.
• Strong knowledge of databases at scale, including sharding, multi-region deployments, and data protection constraints.
• Experience operating high-scale systems with observability and operational tooling.
• Hands-on development experience, strong architectural judgment, collaborative leadership, high agency, and effective use of AI coding tools.

Nice to have

• Background in fintech, trading, or cryptocurrencies.
• Experience with pricing, positions, PnL, market data, spread, or hedging systems.
• Knowledge of market microstructure, multi-venue execution, or smart order routing.
