TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (Java/Microservices): Designing and modernizing enterprise applications and software architecture for identity and access management with an accent on microservices, containerized deployment, and cloud application architecture. Focus on decomposing monoliths, building CI/CD pipelines, guiding technical standards, and solving critical design and performance issues.
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, US. Applicants must be legally authorized to reside and work in the hiring country; international relocation and remote work outside the hiring country will not be considered.

What you will do
- Provide enterprise architecture guidance and help define long-term technical strategies focused on microservices and replaceability.
- Design, develop, modernize, and maintain applications and systems, including decomposing monolithic applications.
- Build prototypes, participate in design and code reviews, and establish development and data model standards.
- Automate source-code and software-asset deployment through CI/CD pipelines and support critical production issues.
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into product implementations.
- Mentor software engineering and QA colleagues and guide teams through complex design and performance challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring, JSP, Java Servlets, React and/or Angular, SQL, NoSQL, HTTP, JSON, XML, and web services.
- Experience with microservices, GraphQL or REST, application architecture, design patterns, event-driven integrations, and containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD, dependency management, version control, Gitflow, and tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitLab, Hudson, or Bamboo.
- Experience with Agile development and cloud application architecture in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
