Materials Project Manager (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $124,000–$171,000 per year.

What you will do

• Forecast engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements; communicate demand to suppliers and coordinate MRP signals to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team and coordinate product-development deliverables across buyers, planners, production control, and engineering through matrix management.
• Create, release, and update materials strategies and execute commercialization and transition materials plans.
• Support sourcing, make-versus-buy analysis, supplier selection, price and delivery negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier risk assessments.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality, and cost performance; manage materials change control, key process indicators, landed-cost targets, and cost objectives.
• Partner with engineering and quality teams to identify critical and long-lead parts, define inspection requirements, develop supplier and commodity road maps, and resolve supplier quality issues.

Requirements

• Depth and/or breadth of expertise in a specialized materials, engineering, sourcing, or manufacturing discipline.
• Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
• Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
• Ability to lead others in solving complex problems using sophisticated analytical judgment and innovative solutions.
• Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt different points of view.
