Data Catalog Delivery Lead (Alation)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; office workplace type. Some positions may be eligible for a flexible arrangement combining office and work from home; the specific arrangement will be provided by the hiring team.

What you will do

• Own execution governance for the Data Catalog Design & Delivery team, including operating processes, standards, and agile practices.
• Manage audit-ready delivery traceability from requirements through design, development, testing, and release.
• Coordinate release management, readiness validation, change freezes, and deployment timing.
• Review and challenge designs and testing strategies for scalability, governance, integration, usability, and sustainability.
• Drive Alation configuration, adoption, integration, metadata ingestion, and vendor engagement.
• Resolve execution risks, requirement gaps, and cross-functional conflicts while improving catalog adoption, metadata quality, onboarding velocity, and audit performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of experience implementing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
• Experience with data governance, data privacy, data protection, and complex business process analysis.
• At least 2 years of hands-on Alation experience, including workflow configuration, stewardship models, metadata ingestion, and platform integration.
• Experience with testing strategies, quality assurance, release management, audit or compliance-driven delivery, and documented controls.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, influence without direct authority, and drive continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with metadata integration, data lineage, and modern data ecosystems.
• Experience managing vendor-platform support, enhancements, and technical coordination.
• Experience balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term platform scalability and maturity.
