UX Product Designer (Networking)

Location: Hybrid in Cupertino, California, with two days per week in the HPE office.

Salary: USD 92,700–187,500 annual base salary in California; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Own a defined product area involving assistants, self-driving workflows, automated actions, or assurance dashboards for IT operators.
• Frame product problems through user research, product metrics, competitive analysis, and clear problem statements.
• Conduct AI-scaled qualitative research and synthesize support calls, transcripts, feedback, and tickets into actionable insights.
• Design and prototype complex enterprise experiences, including motion, transitions, edge cases, and working front-end code guided by AI tools.
• Contribute reusable components and patterns to the design system and support generative UI workflows.
• Define quality criteria for AI features, create evaluation rubrics and golden datasets, and collaborate with product, engineering, and research partners through launch.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of product design experience.
• Strong visual design, interaction design, and design systems foundations, supported by a portfolio showing broad exploration and articulated trade-offs.
• Hands-on fluency or demonstrated ability to quickly learn at least one AI design-to-code or vibe design tool and one AI research or analytics tool.
• Ability to interpret funnels, question metrics, and use evidence to guide design decisions.
• Builder mindset with a preference for working prototypes, experimentation, and detailed product craft.
• Ability to work from the Cupertino office two days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI or agentic products such as chatbots, copilots, or generative UI.
• Exposure to AI evaluation practices, including rubrics, golden datasets, and LLM-as-a-Judge.
• Familiarity with front-end fundamentals such as React, Tailwind, and component architecture.
