TL;DR
Module Process Engineer IV (E4) - Dielectric Deposition (CVD / ALD) (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Leading dielectric deposition process engineering and customer-facing continuous improvement projects for semiconductor manufacturing equipment with an accent on CVD/ALD expertise, wafer-fab operations, yield improvement, and defect reduction. Focus on analyzing complex equipment and process issues, diagnosing root causes from sensor and wafer data, improving process Cpk and tool performance, and mentoring junior engineers.

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; relocation eligible. Domestic travel required, up to 25% of the time and potentially below 50% per month depending on customer project support.

Salary: $116,000–$159,500 per year

What you will do

  • Lead technical discussions with customers to identify high-value problems and define and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Improve customer KPIs through defect and variability reduction, cost-of-ownership improvement, preventive maintenance optimization, process Cpk improvement, tool matching, and output optimization.
  • Drive adoption of service technologies through customer demonstrations, on-site evaluations, and joint development programs.
  • Resolve complex equipment and process issues using advanced analytics, systematic troubleshooting, and root-cause diagnosis.
  • Prepare technical reports and present analysis based on BOMs, equipment constants, sensor data, wafer results, and product benchmarking.
  • Act as a technical authority in dielectric deposition and mentor junior module process engineers.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in dielectric deposition process engineering.
  • Deep expertise in CVD and ALD, wafer-fab operations, semiconductor equipment, and dielectric deposition unit processes.
  • Experience with DOE and statistical analysis using JMP, Python, or Spotfire.
  • Strong knowledge of yield improvement, defect analysis, and hardware–process interactions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, influence senior stakeholders, and support customer projects with domestic travel.

Nice to have

  • Experience with two or more deposition technologies and four or more processes across multiple technologies.
  • Advanced integration knowledge across adjacent disciplines.
  • Military experience.
