IS Technical Specialist (Java/GCP)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Java backend services using Spring and Spring Boot, including performance tuning and resiliency patterns.
• Design, build, version, document, and test secure RESTful APIs across the payments ecosystem.
• Deliver cloud-native solutions using GCP services, command-line tools, integrations, and DevSecOps processes.
• Own end-to-end delivery for assigned initiatives, including estimation, design, development, testing, defect resolution, implementation, and change control.
• Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams, product and business partners, enterprise IT, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver technical and testing artifacts.
• Diagnose complex production issues involving performance, availability, integrations, databases, middleware, networks, and other systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience, or an additional 4 years of related work experience in lieu of the degree.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications, with strong Java/Spring Boot and GCP expertise.
• Experience with secure REST APIs, asynchronous event-driven integrations, OAuth2/OIDC, distributed systems, and production support.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure; Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code; CI/CD, Git, IAM, cloud security, and policy validation using OPA, Rego, or Terraform Validator.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale payment or financial systems and understanding payment processing concepts such as ACH, checks, cards, Zelle, and bill pay.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, customer service, and delivery coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Zenoss, and Splunk.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or automation tools.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Terraform.
