Specialist, Environmental Health & Safety (Defense Technology)

Salary: $79,000–$147,000 per year for California and other listed locations. Additional salary ranges may apply in other specified states.

What you will do

• Develop and implement environmental health and safety plans, procedures, and policies in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Inspect facilities and equipment, monitor safety practices, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Investigate accidents and hazardous conditions and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees.
• Monitor the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Maintain safety documentation and respond to health and safety inquiries and complaints.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4–8 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA, IBC, and other applicable EHS regulations.
• Practical understanding of ISO 14064-1 and GHG emissions management, plus occupational and environmental health and safety practices.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• Experience with California state and regional EHS regulations.
• Expertise in NFPA electrical safety, air quality, stormwater, hazardous waste, chemical safety, and emergency response.
• Experience with VPP, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Gensuite, or Sphera.
• Strong root cause analysis, communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
