Compensation Lead

Location: New York, New York, United States; in-office 4–5 days per week

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 USD annual base compensation, plus equity

The Farmer’s Dog provides personalized, freshly made dog food through a direct-to-consumer subscription service and is expanding into broader pet care experiences.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end compensation review cycles, including timelines, supporting materials, training, benchmarks, and pay decision coordination.
• Evaluate and refine compensation program design using scalable, data-informed approaches.
• Own benchmarking strategy across job architecture, FLSA classifications, leveling, and market pricing.
• Analyze complex compensation issues and translate findings into recommendations for total rewards strategy and business decisions.
• Build trusted partnerships with senior leaders, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Humans Business Partners, and systems and operations teams.
• Establish compensation governance and audit processes, manage complex projects, and support program redesigns and system implementations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive compensation experience with end-to-end program ownership.
• Strong analytical, Excel, and data skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations.
• Broad expertise in compensation design and experience resolving complex compensation issues.
• Experience building stakeholder relationships and advising senior business leaders.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while managing multiple projects.
• Ability to work in the New York office 4–5 days per week.

• Direct experience with Workday and Pave.
