Senior Engineer, Packaging (Packaging Equipment)

What you will do

• Lead the design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new packaging equipment and systems.
• Optimize filling and packaging processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.
• Implement and maintain SPC programs, OEE and packaging performance metrics, documentation-error monitoring systems, and corrective actions.
• Analyze equipment performance data, improve throughput, reduce downtime, troubleshoot packaging equipment, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives from concept through closure, including plans, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate contractors, maintenance personnel, vendors, and technical resources while facilitating cross-functional meetings and reporting project status to site leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of engineering experience within Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Chemical Manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading packaging equipment installations, upgrades, qualifications, and validation activities.
• Strong knowledge of packaging systems, automated equipment, and manufacturing process improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing capital projects within regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols and equipment commissioning.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and statistical analysis tools.
• Experience implementing and monitoring OEE and other manufacturing performance indicators.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance and equipment reliability principles, plus familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience with filling, packaging, serialization, labeling, inspection, or automated manufacturing systems.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, written and verbal.
