Packaging Engineer (E-mobility)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain technical specifications for raw material and intercompany packaging, including films, cartons, labels, pallets, liners, and bags.
• Evaluate packaging materials for performance, durability, compliance, compatibility with production equipment, and operational reliability.
• Lead packaging trials, testing, validation, and supplier readiness activities for new products and packaging changes.
• Review supplier technical documentation, conduct capability assessments, and support qualification processes.
• Investigate packaging quality issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and Quality Assurance.
• Optimize packaging cost and sustainability through material improvements, lightweighting, recyclability, waste reduction, and eco-design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of packaging engineering experience in manufacturing, FMCG, pharma, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, converting processes, packaging equipment, quality systems, testing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with CAD tools, packaging testing equipment, ERP systems, external packaging suppliers, and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, eco-design principles, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Fluent English and Italian required; German is advantageous.
