Corporate Area Technical Manager (DCS)

Location: Lake Forest, Illinois, United States

Salary: $129,500–$185,000 per year, plus an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to corporate and mill teams responsible for DCS, QCS, PLC, and drive systems.
• Oversee DCS logic configuration, hardware installation, process tuning, and optimization of existing control strategies.
• Plan and coordinate system updates, upgrades, reliability improvements, and capital project activities.
• Establish DCS lifecycle management practices and support control system audits and improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver DCS training for control system engineers and technicians.
• Improve cybersecurity, operational resilience, production continuity, and reliability across legacy and modern control platforms.

Requirements

• 10+ years of broad technical experience in process control systems and industrial automation.
• Experience with DCS platforms from Honeywell, ABB, Emerson, Rockwell, Foxboro, or comparable suppliers.
• Knowledge of DCS hardware, programming logic, instrumentation, control tuning, process optimization, and DCS upgrades.
• Project management and project budget estimation experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, accountability, and service-oriented problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for capital projects, troubleshooting, reliability initiatives, and system upgrades.
