Senior Engineer, UI/UX (Medical Devices)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; hybrid workplace with a required minimum number of onsite days per week

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Build UI solutions for clinician, patient, and caregiver workflows while meeting safety, usability, and accessibility requirements.
• Translate user requirements, clinical insights, and risk mitigations into interaction and visual design solutions.
• Maintain consistency through design patterns, style guides, and collaboration with design system owners.
• Partner with Human Factors Engineering to integrate IEC 62366 and FDA usability requirements into UI/UX workflows.
• Support formative studies, heuristic evaluations, use-error analyses, and simulated-use testing.
• Analyze study results and recommend interface changes to improve safety and workflow alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in UX/HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of UI/UX experience; regulated industry experience is preferred.
• Strong UX portfolio demonstrating interaction design, visual design, and complex workflows.
• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure.
• Experience with embedded or touchscreen interfaces, or connected device ecosystems.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
