Senior UX/UI Designer (Healthcare)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annually

What you will do

• Execute UX activities for a portfolio of VA digital experiences in partnership with product managers, designers, subject-matter experts, stakeholders, and the UX Lead.
• Create UI designs, high-fidelity interactive prototypes, product flows, and interaction recommendations using Human-Centered Design principles.
• Develop task-based UAT scenarios and success criteria aligned with user workflows and release objectives.
• Prepare, facilitate, observe, and synthesize usability and UAT sessions, turning findings into recommendations and iterative improvements.
• Support UX improvements for telehealth and virtual care workflows, including accessibility and usability initiatives.
• Identify usability risks and opportunities and contribute to recommendations that improve adoption, workflow fit, and experience quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in UX, UI, usability, product design, or a related field.
• Experience creating UI designs and high-fidelity interactive prototypes with tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Experience with usability evaluations, task-based testing, or user-centered product validation.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and developers, with a clear understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting government digital products, VA systems, or Department of Veterans Affairs projects.
• Experience planning or facilitating UAT and working with Agile product teams.
• Knowledge of accessibility principles, inclusive design, clinical workflows, and healthcare operations.
• Experience with VA Telehealth operations, workflows, tools, or virtual care platforms.
