Senior User Experience Designer (MedTech)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA. Applicants must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Define and evolve end-to-end user experience strategy across surgical automation, visualization, Software as a Medical Device, surgical planning, navigation, portals, and augmented reality products.
• Translate clinical workflows and user research into actionable design requirements through interviews, contextual inquiry, observations, workshops, usability testing, and design validation.
• Create user journeys, workflows, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes for web and augmented reality applications.
• Design interfaces for complex datasets, 3D visualizations, surgical planning tools, and procedural workflows that reduce cognitive load in high-pressure clinical environments.
• Develop and govern an enterprise design system covering visual language, typography, color, components, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, clinical, quality, regulatory, and leadership teams to ensure design fidelity, usability, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in UX design, product design, human factors engineering, or experience architecture.
• Experience designing complex software products from concept through release and leading UX efforts across multiple products or platforms.
• Expertise in user research, workflow analysis, usability testing, interaction design, and production-ready visual design.
• Proficiency with Figma and modern design and prototyping tools, plus strong written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
• Valid U.S. work authorization is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in MedTech, healthcare technology, medical devices, digital health, or Software as a Medical Device.
• Knowledge of human factors and usability engineering for medical devices.
• Experience with surgical navigation, robotics, orthopedic solutions, procedural software, augmented reality, mixed reality, or immersive experiences.
• Experience establishing enterprise design systems and UX governance frameworks.
