Technical Operations Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Laurel, Maryland, United States, with 25% travel

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop and conduct virtual and in-person technical training sessions.
• Operate and maintain a hybrid cyber range across virtual and physical environments.
• Translate network scenarios into training curriculum and emulate them with Infrastructure as Code.
• Test and validate hardware and software solutions before deployment.
• Document training SOPs and improve deployment and operating processes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert connecting new technologies with field implementation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in cyber operations, IT, or development roles.
• At least 3 years of experience teaching technical curriculum in formal classroom settings.
• At least 1 year of experience using Python and basic Linux/Bash functions.
• Experience running Docker containers with Docker Compose and managing virtual machines with Proxmox or OpenStack.
• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Packer, Terraform, Ansible, datacenter operations, and physical network-device connections.
• Experience configuring Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba routers and switches.
• Experience with Security Onion and Caldera threat-emulation frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
