Mid-Level Linux System Administrator (Linux)

Location: On-site at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, USA. Remote/telework is not available. No relocation assistance is provided. Day shift with up to 10% travel.

Salary: $95,000–$135,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Administer Linux operating systems, servers, workstations, and enterprise environments.
• Manage Linux patching, configuration management, automated provisioning, and domain maintenance using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible.
• Deploy, configure, and automate physical and virtual environments with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Bash, and Python.
• Administer OpenShift container platforms and maintain repositories and registries.
• Harden and remediate operating systems, maintain Secure Host Baselines, and support DISA STIG compliance.
• Monitor systems, perform backups and restorations, manage upgrades, document procedures, and execute authorized secure data transfers as a Data Transfer Agent.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of directly related Linux systems administration experience, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience with Linux configuration management, automated provisioning, patching, virtualization, and Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Experience managing Linux authentication, identity management, directory services, networking services, and storage such as LVM and NFS.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher is required.
• Active DoW Secret Security Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain an active DoW Top Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• RHCSA or RHCE certification.
• Windows systems administration, Active Directory, PowerShell, WSUS, SCCM, and Group Policy experience.
• Experience with certificate authorities, PXE/Kickstart, two-factor authentication, RSA, PKI, VMware, ITSM tools, and configuration management processes.
