TL;DR
Hardware Quality Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing): Building a repeatable, scalable hardware inspection and quality system for a supersonic aircraft and gas turbine program with an accent on inspection standards, traceability, nonconformance workflows, and AS9100-ready processes. Focus on developing inspection plans from drawings, specifying equipment, managing outside processing verification, and architecting quality infrastructure from the ground up.

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States. ITAR/EAR compliance requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Base salary: $123,746–$157,230 per year.

What you will do

  • Define repeatable inspection processes from receiving through in-process and final inspection.
  • Develop inspection report formats, traceability frameworks, and nonconformance workflows.
  • Establish standards for building, documenting, and handing off inspection programs with the inspection team.
  • Identify inspection capability gaps, specify equipment, and support procurement business cases.
  • Define verification requirements for parts returning from heat treatment, coating, and other outside processing.
  • Build quality processes aligned with future AS9100 compliance without slowing manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Experience as a quality engineer in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience building quality processes rather than only operating existing systems.
  • Strong GD&T fundamentals and the ability to independently develop inspection plans from engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management frameworks.
  • Experience specifying and procuring inspection equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate directly with machinists, programmers, and engineers and make data-based quality decisions.

  • CMM programming experience.
