Senior Systems, Integration, and Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. The position requires regular hands-on work with aerospace hardware on the production floor and physical ability to lift 25 lbs.

Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Own the vehicle from integration through launch and on-orbit operations.
• Create and lead vehicle integration and test campaigns to validate flight readiness.
• Analyze system-level mass, delta-V, power, and data budgets and resolve subsystem tradeoffs.
• Lead system-level design trades, design reviews, and vehicle change implementation.
• Manage technical milestones and schedule delivery of vehicles.
• Build Python tools for automated system testing and data review, and operate spacecraft in orbit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field and 5+ years of systems, integration, and/or test experience on critical hardware programs.
• Experience making decisions for test campaigns and working on complex technical programs.
• Strong first-principles thinking and technical breadth across electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines.
• Working knowledge of aerospace vehicle subsystems and hands-on experience building aerospace vehicles.
• Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs and work standing, bending, and stooping around hardware.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with GNC and propulsion sensors and actuators, satellite systems, flight testing, or spacecraft operations.
• Experience with C++, Python, CAD software such as Unigraphics NX, wiring schematics, harness design, and harness manufacturing.
• Experience with aerospace hardware qualification, space-environment design, production, project management, or technical leadership.
