TL;DR
Composite Technician I-III (Aerospace): Building and integrating composite aerospace structures through lamination, bonding, vacuum bag processing, and oven/autoclave curing with an accent on precision layouts, core fitting, and mechanical hardware integration. Focus on preparing parts for composite processing, fitting thermal protection systems, and performing precise measurements in tight-space manufacturing environments.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global’s site in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Travel or work on other local hirify.global products may be required.

What you will do

  • Assemble composite structures, including setup, bonding, and fastener applications.
  • Laminate assemblies by determining the proper placement of composite materials.
  • Prepare parts for bagging with bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections.
  • Perform vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing.
  • Create basic layouts and check dimensions using calipers, micrometers, precision scales, and torque wrenches.
  • Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic cores; refurbish thermal protection systems; and integrate mechanical hardware.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • For Technician II: 2+ years of experience with composites or laminations, military equipment maintenance, or electronics/mechanical troubleshooting and manufacturing equipment repair.
  • For Technician III: 5+ years of experience in one of the listed composite, military maintenance, or manufacturing equipment disciplines.
  • For work in a U.S. office, eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • The role requires onsite physical work, including standing or walking for at least eight hours, ladder use, tight-space work, repetitive movement, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Nice to have

  • 8+ years of experience with composites or laminations.
  • Basic math skills and experience with pneumatic tools, calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Familiarity with drilling, laminating, and assembly prints and material data sheets.
  • Shop organization, cleanliness, and personal protective equipment use.
